At that time, the estate was a large agricultural business. The campsite was created in 1959 by the Countess Alix d’Armagnac de Castanet. Very popular and sought-after in the 80s and 90s, this 4-star campsite affiliated to the famous Castels chain was very popular with Dutch holidaymakers. Unfortunately, the numerous renovations required to keep the site up to standard were not carried out as planned, leading to the closure of the campsite in 2007.
Michel de Maindreville, grandson of the former owner, is the new manager of the campsite. Passionate about the region and highly motivated by the challenge of restoring the campsite to its former glory, Michel, with the help of his family, has redoubled his efforts to undertake the many works required to give the campsite a modern, youthful feel.
So, after more than 10 years of dormancy, the Domaine de Senaud campsite opened its doors for the 2018 season with a new generation of motivated, dynamic staff ready to welcome new holidaymakers.
